Have anybody tried Brazlian BBQ, usually called a churrascaria. They come around with long skewers of meat and carved right at your table.

Two places I've tried are:

Greenfields in Long Beach and West Covina

Roda Viva: In the Puente Hills mall which has now become another churrascaria called Oba Oba.

Yes they do a dry rub. I always get my ribs with sauce on the side. I hate being a lifeguard and having to rescue ribs that are drowning in BBQ sauce. :)

I had to pick up a friend at LAX today. I wanted to go back to Benny's BBQ but they only had pork and beef sandwiches. No pork ribs at all and beef ribs would only be ready after 3pm. And even though the girl behind the counter is very easy on the eyes, eye candy doesn't fill my stomach.

Plan B was Phillips in Inglewood but nobody answered the phone at 11am. So maybe there are closed on Tuesdays.

Plan C was Bad to Da Bone but I was just there about two weeks ago.

Then I remembered a small BBQ place on Imperial Hwy just west of Vermont off the 105 freeway. So I go there and it's open and they have a full menu.

The place is called

Mom's Bar B Que
1050 W Imperial Hwy.
LA CA 90044
323-756-8405

Sun-Thru 10-10pm Fri-Sat 10- Midnight.

TAKE OUT ONLY.

I ordered the pork rib (4 ribs) lunch with macaroni salad. Mild BBQ sauce on the side. $8.50 tax included. The ribs were good about an 8 on a scale of 10. The had some smoke flavor but not as strong as other BBQ places in the area. The sauce is on the sweet side but they do offer a hot version.

The mac salad was very creamy and was very fresh.

Overall a good place to get your BBQ fix. Prices are very reasonable. One meat dinners for about $11 including two sides. Lunch plates and combos from $7.45 to $8.50.

If you can't wait to taste the BBQ, go west on Imperial about a mile or so and there is a Carl's Jr on the northeast corner. Order a soda and dig into some good BBQ.
