I haven’t abandoned BBQ or this blog

Most of you might be wondering about the lack of posts on this website… yeah me too. I took a little time off from work and blogging to dedicate that time towards getting to know my new baby girl. Yeah, the BBQ Junkie has multiplied. But it is all good. My posts will continue to be a little scarce, but will increase in frequency as I get the hang of this daddyhood thing.

Wanted to throw out a quick little update on our BBQ Team Four-Q. We managed to pull together a third place trophie at the Beach Front BBQ Competition back in november… sadly, I didn’t participate on that occasion :(

There are great photos at the other team member sites:

Soul Fusion Kitchen
Professor Salt
The Survival Gourmet

Look for all of Four-Q to compete in the spring at Autry.

Peace out for now.

Hey that’s great Junkie! Congrats on Baby Junkie!
The first step is a couple of drops of Que sauce in the milk bottle. Flamin’ Vicki ate plenty of que when she was pregnant with our first daughter, and “baby flame” has been a bbq lover from the start.
As the father of 2 wonderful girls I have to tell you there is nothing like daddy’s little girls!
They Rock! But pretty soon I’ll have to get a shot gun for polishing on the front porch when the boys come by. *************************************************
Congrats of the team trophy at Beach front Comp. The Smokin’ Steve’s Team didn’t make that one, but in Oct. we earned a 2nd in ribs at Viejas with a 6th over all out of 35 teams! We are still happy on that.
We look forward to seeing you guys at the Autry too! And in August at the Thousand Oaks Cook-off. go to http://www.tobbqchilifest.com/index.htm for more info on that one.
    Peace Out-
    Smokin’ Steve

I could go on forever about the open air serenity of patio cooking, patio noshing, patio friends and the
SoCal patio life altogether, but nothing can compare to the sweetness of a new born patio daughter or son. I have three (boy, girl, girl), and though they are grown and gone now, the patio is still there and so are they, poking the fire, pouring the lemonade and dipping the salsa.
